I originally got this idea from a "Bag Clutter" piece by "Around The Sims 4". There was a student card in one of those and I thought wouldn't it be cool to have some credit cards or even gift cards?
Browsing on Google opened a wormhole of artistic and unique gift cards that I am currently at 300 recolors (all of which, give or take one or two for later packages, will be down below) and I still have a good 100 or 200 to go.
I envisioned using these for advancing storylines and LPs, especially those with children to make gifting seem cooler. You could have a family that does a Disneyland weekend as a yearly family tradition. Or maybe a new mom or dad is opening gifts at a baby shower and are presented with some Babies-R-Us gift cards to go shopping for baby supplies.
Then there's also the addition of an EBT card that can go along with the "SNB Bills" mod as another form of assistance. The stories and decorating possibilities are endless with these and there will definitely be further packages down the line.

Give the entire Sephora collection a try because who doesn't need a Sephora in game where you can also display some of my make-up related cards.
